OUTREACH & MISSIONS

Liberty is committed to serving and sharing the Gospel to our community and our world. Our church offers a variety of programs and partners with like-minded organizations to make a local and global impact in the lives of others.

GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT

The mission of Liberty’s Global Engagement ministry is to mobilize the entire congregation to engage in God’s global mission through sacrificially praying, going and sending. Liberty partners with cross-cultural missionaries and organizations in over 15 different countries with particular emphasis on emerging movements in the Muslim world.

Below are some of the opportunities available in serving with the Global outreach of the church:

MISSIONARY CARE AND SUPPORT

Liberty directly supports 31 different missionary families – 17 serving in 11 countries around the world, as well as 14 families serving in cross-cultural ministries here in the U.S. All are invited to support our missionaries through prayer and ongoing financial giving.

Learn more about our missionaries by contacting Pastor Kevin Cram, Pastor of Global Engagement.

SHORT-TERM MISSIONS TRIPS

Each year, Liberty sends out short-term missions teams to serve alongside our partners around the world. Our priority has always been to provide high-quality experiences that glorify God, engage participants, serve missions partners and bless the communities that we encounter.

MISSIONARY PRAYER TIME

1st Monday of the month | 1 pm | Room 220 | Chesterton Campus

Upcoming 2024 dates: November 4, December 2, January 6

Join us every 1st Monday of the month as we lift up our missionaries in prayer. It is our privilege to support ministries around the world through the power of prayer. Find out more, email Pastor Kevin Cram.

LOCAL ENGAGEMENT

Liberty’s passion to see the name of Jesus Christ glorified leads us to be actively involved in serving and blessing our community. The aim of Liberty’s Local Engagement ministry is to help everyone at our church to live out the Gospel in word and deed in the multitude of opportunities available in our neighborhoods and community.

Below are some of the ways we serve in outreach to our local community:

Friendship Families

Friendship Families is a group of Christians from several local churches that befriend international students from Valparaiso University. We connect about once a month by having group activities. Questions? Email Amy Berube.

Food Pantry

Liberty collects non-perishable food items at the Chesterton campus. We take these donations to area food pantries on a rotating schedule.

Kids Hope

Kids Hope USA believes all kids matter to Jesus and that the local church is uniquely called to care for children in their community. Research shows that the common factor in determining a child’s future success is if they have stable, committed, healthy relationships with adults in their lives.

Liberty and Kids Hope have partnered with Liberty Elementary School to mentor students. It’s all about building life-changing relationships. One student at a time. If you are interested in volunteering one hour a week, email Dave Ausema.

MOSAIC

Mosaic is a community that loves, honors and celebrates every nation, tribe, people and language, which God has declared will one day stand before the throne and before the Lamb. This group is open to everyone.

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. —Revelation 7:9

REGULAR EVENTS:

  • PRAYER MEETING | 1st Mondays of the month @ 6:30 pm | online via Zoom

Questions? Email Sue Nathan.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a unique ministry in which you pack a shoebox of items that are sent out into the world to children in need.

NeighborLink

NeighborLink Porter County helps us to love others sacrificially by helping those in our community. It partners volunteers with needs in the community.

Valparaiso Farm Stand

Our Liberty family contributes extras from their farms and gardens to the Farm Stand. On Saturdays from 10 am – 12 pm (or until the food runs out), we offer free produce to the community. During the summer, the stand is run from the parking lot at the Valparaiso campus. It’s run by volunteers.
