WOMEN’S RETREAT
Friday, April 25 — Sunday April 27, 2025
"and I will be a father to you,
and you shall be sons and daughters to me,
says the Lord Almighty."
— 2 Corinthians 6:18
Registration closed for this year.

LADIES! (high school+)
Come join us for a weekend of worship and walking in the experience of being a daughter of the King. Together, we will lean into God’s Word of who He says we are and the power we have at our disposal as His daughters. Enjoy a time of being watered by God's refreshing Spirit.
Take time away from your routine at home and find some space to breathe, meet with God in a serene environment, and build friendships among the women from the Chesterton, La Porte, Valparaiso campuses and our community.
Why Should I Attend?
You will be warmly welcomed from the moment you arrive on Friday, April 25. And whether you come with a few friends or venture out on your own, you will be embraced in a fun, caring, and encouraging community of Christians who are glad you’re there.
Our aim for the weekend is simple:
To love on you.
To give you opportunities to deepen your faith and increase your love for Jesus.
To provide an atmosphere where you are known and included and can grow closer to your sisters in Christ.
We will laugh and sing, and worship our Father. Take walks, have talks, be silent or silly. Learn something new about God and about yourself. Have fun (just us girls), however you define it.

Women's Retreat Speakers
Session 2 | Speaker – Joanne Fiore
What Does It Mean To Be A Daughter of the King?
Joanne Fiore’s journey has taken her across oceans and ultimately landed her in Valparaiso, Indiana. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, and raised in South Florida, she took a bold leap by joining the Navy ROTC program at Auburn University after high school. She went on to serve five years in the Navy as a legal officer in Florida and a protocol officer in Japan. Alongside her husband, Nick, a 20-year Navy veteran, she has called San Diego, Pensacola, Fort Worth, El Paso, and Washington, D.C., home before finally dropping anchor in Valpo 11 years ago. Even though she’s flown a Navy F-18, she would still say her greatest adventure has been her 20-year journey as a homeschool mom to four awesome boys (Ben, married to Laura; Jake, Josh, and Matt). Joanne seeks daily to reflect Christ’s love for his people, to work out her faith in Jesus, to serve him wholeheartedly, and to encourage others along the way.
Session 3 | Speaker – Heather Booras
When the Lies Come. Navigating Identity Amnesia.
Heather Booras and her husband Bobby have been attending Liberty Bible Church since 2006. Over the years, she has served in various roles in Children's Ministry, Women's Ministry, Learning Communities, as well as a Pastoral Search Committee and Elder Nomination Committee. She is a mom to six wonderful children ranging from age 14 to 5 (Adelyn, Weston, Gideon, Nathan, Justin, and Marian). Heather spends a large portion of her time driving their 12-passenger maroon van around Chesterton making stops like a transit bus; and if you ever need a ride, an umbrella, a blanket, or a snack, she has you covered! Bible study has shaped and blessed her life. A verse that Heather has taken to heart in her life is from Acts 5:42: "They never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ."
Session 4 | Speaker – Lisa Haislet
On Whose Power Do We Stand as Daughters?
Lisa Haislet and her husband, Eric, have four amazing kids (Westin (27), Anna (26), Ella (22), and Ruby (14). She leads a weekly prayer house at Liberty, LaPorte Campus. For 15 years she hosted a Moms in Touch Prayer group that prayed weekly for kids in the public schools. She just hit her 20th year of being a full-time photographer. Lisa loves her Midwest roots and visits Lake Michigan at least once a week. In the summer, her flower beds and gardening are favorites. Lisa seeks daily to be a disciple of Christ, devouring His word. She is passionate about hosting His presence and ministering to His heart.
